We would like to share the results of our stakeholder survey, which closed on 26 July.
Thank you to everyone who participated and provided feedback – your insights are invaluable, and we appreciate the time and effort you invested in sharing your opinions, perceptions, and attitudes about our work, products, and services.
About the Survey
Conducted by Lonergan Research on behalf of OTSI, the survey aimed to capture your insights on how we engage with you and identify opportunities to enhance the value we offer the transport sector. Your feedback will help us make significant safety improvements using lessons and insights from our investigations, data analysis, and research.
Key findings
The majority of stakeholders were satisfied with OTSI and considered their relationship with OTSI to be ‘very good’ or ‘extremely good’.
OTSI was described by most stakeholders as having a no-blame approach. Many stakeholders also held the opinion that OTSI were experts in safety investigation and were an independent agency not influenced by the government or industry.
The factors which were most important in determining overall satisfaction for stakeholders were:
- quality of safety recommendations
- communication with stakeholders throughout the investigation process
- professionalism of staff.
Following the analysis of the survey findings, we have developed a series of actions to continue our journey of continuous improvement. These actions include increased stakeholder communications during the investigation process, and the development of an information pack for new stakeholders involved in investigations which will explain how investigations are conducted, for what purpose, and detail who OTSI is and what role we play in improving safety in the transport system through no-blame investigations.
